ABOUT THE CLASS
Welcome to my class. We are a multi-age classroom consisting of fourth
and fifth grade students. Although multi-age is not new to education, it
is new to Owasso Public Schools and to Mills. We are the first school in
the district to have multi-age classrooms. We currently have two multi-age intermediate (4th & 5th) and two multi-age primary (1st &
2nd). When students come into my class as fourth graders, they remain in
my classroom for the next year, as fifth graders. When they are promoted
to sixth grade, I regretfully send them off to the Sixth Grade Center. I
know they will be loved and cared for at the Sixth Grade Center, but it is hard
to see them go.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
I began teaching at Mills Elementary in August of 1992 as a
fifth grade teacher. Since August of 2000, I have been teaching multi-age
intermediate. My Bachelor's Degree is from Langston University,
University Center of Tulsa,
and my Masters in Math-Science Education was received from The University of
Tulsa.
Along with my regular classroom duties, I am the school's
network administrator, as well as, the webmaster for the school
site. Besides my responsibilities at Mills Elementary, I am also a
Master Trainer for the district at The Eighth
Floor, a technology and learning center for educators.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jerry,
son, Bobby, daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Tom, and my dog, Cisco.
Some of my favorite things to do involve anything outside (camping in Colorado,
gardening, cruising in the car, etc.) and car shows with my husband (He
has a one of a kind Cobra mustang.)
